Artem Anisimov opened the scoring with a beautiful move to fool Chicago goaltender Ray Emery in the final minute of the first period on Friday night at Chicago, and the Rangers seemed well on their way to a strong game. The Blueshirts later made it 2-1 on a third-period goal by Brandon Prust, but a quick turnaround of two Blackhawks goals and an empty-netter by Patrick Kane sealed the Rangers' fate in a 4-3 loss. Brad Richards closed out the scoring with a goal that added plenty of drama to the closing 40 seconds.
