Sunday night, in the Rangers 34th game of the 2013-14 season, the Blueshirts finally played a game that was decided by the shootout. And this one did not disappoint as the Rangers and Flames went seven rounds before the Blueshirts finally secured the 4-3 shootout victory---a hige one for New York as it snapped the team's four-game losing skid.
The ebb and flow of this shootout---with the Rangers three times taking the lead before the Flames would come right back and score, and with both teams having the chance to win after the third round---added to the drama. Benoit Pouliot eventually scored the game-winner with Henrik Lundqvist securing the win by stopping Mikael Backlund with his right pad in Round Seven.
