Forward Kyle Jean completed his first season as a professional this year with the Connecticut Whale, where he notched nine goals and 23 points in 73 games. On Wednesday at Rangers development camp, Jean had one of the prettier goals of the afternoon when he carried the puck from the corner and went top-shelf with his backhand to knot the game, 1-1.

After the scrimmage, Jean caught up with BlueshirtsUnited.com's Jim Cerny to discuss the goal, as well as his reflection on the past year when he arrived at this camp as an invitee and earned a contract, his decision to leave college and turn pro, the difference between the AHL and the NCAA, what he learned as a pro and more.
