Defenseman Ryan McDonagh personified the Rangers effort in the final two games of the series, in which they held the Washington Capitals to zero goals in their two victories to win the series in seven games.
On Monday night, McDonagh was checked into the boards head first and was cut, but missed just one shift and returned to action.
After the game, McDonagh — sporting the Broadway Hat — spoke to reporters about the change in the team after the first two games of the series, their success on defense, their physical yet disciplined play, Henrik Lundqvist’s play and more.
