It took 896 games, but Brad Richards finally recorded his first NHL hat trick Friday night in the Rangers 8-4 win over the Buffalo Sabres. Richards scored his first goal of the night in the first period when his shot deflected off a Buffalo defender and in to give the Rangers a 2-0 lead. His second tally came in the second period when he put home a loose puck in the crease, and his third came in the third on a wrist shot that beat Jhonas Enroth to give the Rangers their eight goal of the night.
