The Rangers captured three out of a possible four points in a home-and-home series with the Eastern Conference leading Pittsburgh Penguins. Rick Nash knotted the game, 1-1, late in the third period to send the game to overtime and then a shootout, and in the process, picked up a crucial point in the standings. Henrik Lundqvist, playing in his 500th NHL game, made 26 saves in the shootout loss.
