Ryan Callahan more than earned the Broadway Hat Monday night at Madison Square Garden, willing the Blueshirts to a 4-2 victory over the Winnipeg Jets with a phenomenal offensive performance, some great work on the penalty kill, and typically physical work all over the ice.
Callahan notched a four-point game, and his one goal was a gorgeous game-changer. Right after the Rangers killed off a two-man disadvantage Callahan and Mats Zuccarello---just out of the penalty box---took off on a 2-on-1 rush the other way, and Callahan made a patient and sensational move to beat Ondrej Pavelec for the shorthanded goal which tied the game 2-2 at the 3:11 mark of the second period.
