Tuesday night in Philadelphia Rick Nash not only got the Rangers started on the right foot by opening the scoring at 14:54 of the first period, he reached the 300-goal milestone for his career.
Assisted by Derek Stepan and Dan Girardi, Nash finished a pretty passing sequence by roofing a snap shot from the slot past Flyers goalie Ilya Bryzgalov for his big goal.
"If I was a kid playing street hockey and you would have told me I'd have 300 goals in the NHL, I'd be thinking that I was dreaming," Nash said following the game. "It's pretty cool to achieve something like that."
Nash begn the quest for his next goal-scoring milestone by netting No. 301 in the third period, a clutch score that upped the Rangers lead at the time to 4-2, quelling the Flyers attempted comeback in the process.
