It took 40 shots, plenty of patience, and then some for the Rangers to overcome a brilliant performance by Washington goalie Braden Holtby Sunday night, but that's exactly what the Blueshirts did, skating to a 2-1 home-ice victory over the Capitals.

Henrik Lundqvist made 27 saves for the Rangers, while Carl Hagelin scored the tying goal---his fifth in the past four games, and Derek Stepan netted the game-winner to lift the Rangers to 8-5-1 on the season, 4-0-1 in their last five matches.
