The Connecticut Whale ran its winning streak to four straight games with a 2-1 victory Friday night in Albany, one that was decided in a shootout.
Goaltender Cam Talbot starred for the Whale, stopping 43 of 44 shots through 65 minutes of play and then all five shots he faced during the shootout. The oft-spectacular Talbot denied four NHL players during the shootout---Mattias Tedenby, Jacob Josefsson, Bobby Butler, and Adam Henrique---to cap his amazing night. Talbot surrendered a goal to Tedenby just 4:30 into the game, but would not be dented again, including an 18-shot second period blitz by the Devils.
Christian Thomas scored the Whale's lone goal through 65 minutes, his second of the season late in the first period, while Matt Gilroy scored the only goal during the five-round shootout.
