Cristoval "Boo" Nieves grew up in the Syracuse, N.Y., area and honed his hockey skills at Kent School in Connecticut while also seeing a bit of action in the USHL. The 6-foot-3 center with great speed and a college scholarship to the University of Michigan, got a real thrill on Saturday morning, when the Rangers selected him 59th overall in the second round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft at Pittsburgh.
