Five Questions For Rangers Training Camp

After a four-month delay the Rangers are finally on the verge of opening up training camp, one that is full of high expectations both from outside the organization as well as within the organization.

However, as Henrik Lundqvist pointed out the other day, the Rangers can not take their 2011-12 success for granted and just believe that last season's great run will automatically carry over into this abbreviated 2013 season.

"The thing that you can't forget is just how hard we worked last year," said Lundqvist. "We accomplished a lot of great things, but we only accomplished them through a lot of hard, hard work. And even with that we didn't accomplish everything we wanted, so we have to work even harder this season."

The Rangers finished atop both the Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference standings with 109 points a year ago---their most since 1993-94---winning 51 games along the way. A pair of seven-game playoff victories over Ottawa and Washington followed, before the season ended in a six-game loss to the Devils in the Eastern Conference Finals, two wins shy of a Stanley Cup Finals berth.

Now the Blueshirts are set to embark on a new season, starting with a training camp which will run less than one week.
